PROJECT DEVELOPMENT
Adex Interiors takes great pride in its ability to cater for all of the needs of any particular client for any given project thus allowing a “business as usual” ethos whilst works are progressing.
From the earliest thoughts of a business’ requirement, Adex Interiors sales professionals are able to work with clients to turn these ideas into reality and produce creative, practical designs. After initial consultation and with the support of Adex’ in house designers these solutions will continue to be developed with the customer taking in to account and carrying out the following.
- General site survey
- Initial design work incorporating legislative requirements and industry guidelines (Building Regulations and DDA requirements etc)
- On going design and space planning to determine a final solution incorporating Health and Safety considerations and implications and CDM (Construction Design and Management) Regulations 1994 where required.
- Budget pricing
- Specification of applicable products
- Detailed proposal preparation
- General time-scale planning
Throughout the implementation of a contract, Adex Interiors contract managers ensure day to day project control of the following.
- Real-time program control
- Submission of Building Regulation and Planning Applications
- Procurement of materials, labour and plant
- Trade group co-ordination
- Full client / contractor liaison
- Regular site attendance to ensure correct sequencing and continuity of work and control of contractors
- Regular site meetings if required
- Compliance with CDM implementation and management where required
- Health and Safety implementation and management
Throughout the entire process Adex looks to maintain a close working relationship with its clients, communicating with them on all matters whilst ensuring that the client feels that the works are being managed on their behalf. This working “in the spirit of the contract” with our clients allows us the flexibility to adapt to the day to day development of a project and adopt a “can do” attitude to changes and variations within the specification.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Adex Interiors has long recognized the ever increasing need to assess health and safety in its projects prior to actually attending site. To endorse this Adex Interiors employs an independent Health and Safety Consultant to ensure that the Health and Safety structure and ethos is maintained with in the company and that all relevant projects are reviewed and managed with the latest Health and Safety and CDM (Construction Design Management) principles applied. It also implements an on going training program of Health and Safety for its employees and significant sub contractors alike.
Adex have recently received accreditation from SAFE Contractor, a program which recognises very high standards of Health and Safety practice amongst UK contractors.
Safe Contractor is operated by international safety, health and environmental risk management specialists, the National Brittania Group. The scheme is applicable to most industry sectors although it is particularly relevant to food manufacture, property, facilities management, retail and leisure sectors, all of which are big users of contract services.
James Ostler, Managing Director of Information Service at National Brittania said:
"Major organisations can no longer run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies. More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that Adex hasdone. The firms high standard has set an example, which hopefully will be followed by other companies within the sector".
Under the Safe Contractor system, businesses undergo a vetting process, which examines health and safety procedures and their track record for safe practice.
